Database Partners
BOLD collaborates with key data hosting organizations. By working with these partners to disseminate DNA barcode data, BOLD ensure the interoperability, and maximizes the utilization of the data it hosts.
International Barcode of Life
BOLD and the International Barcode of Life (iBOL) work hand in hand to advance global DNA barcoding initiatives. By uniting researchers from over 25 countries, iBOL fosters international cooperation that enhances BOLD’s mission. Our partnership with iBOL focuses on developing and promoting standardized DNA barcoding protocols, ensuring reliable and consistent data for biodiversity research worldwide.
Centre for Biodiversity Genomics
BOLD and the Centre for Biodiversity Genomics (CBG) have a synergistic relationship. While the CBG is host to the BOLD platform, the database and analytical tools available through the BOLD platform enable the CBG’s mission to advance DNA-based systems for species identification and catalogue life on Earth.
National Center for Biotechnology Information
Naturalis Biodiversity Center
The Naturalis Biodiversity Center is a research institute with an extensive natural history collection and rapidly expanding informatics and laboratory capabilities. Naturalis serves as an important hub for the European barcoding community by hosting the European BOLD mirror and providing laboratory services to researchers in the region.
Global Biodiversity Information Facility
BOLD partners with the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) to enhance data accessibility and quality for biodiversity research and conservation efforts. GBIF aggregates biodiversity data from multiple sources, making it readily available for researchers worldwide, thereby supporting comprehensive and impactful biodiversity studies.
